One to read/listen to every 12-18 months

I've been listening to this as an audio version and have been encouraged. Looking now to find a paperback version to make notes in. I think this is the kind of book you read every year or so and different concepts will jump out at you. Nothing earth shattering but lots of good examples and concepts that make sense.

Evangelization dressed as self improvement. I could not go through the first disc, it is preposterous. The author treats his audience as though they were retarded. If I am looking to learn something, I do not have the time for a long, filler-like explanation of how he discover the nine characteristics of highly successful people. Why not come out from the beginning and say: these are the nine characteristics: a, b, c, d, etc; then explain how we can cultivate them, how discover, why he think they are important. Instead he is going on and on about how successful people, not different from any of us use this characteristics.
The breaking point for me was when the author narrates a story of how a stadium was build by the imagination of a 2 month old. Goes on and on about how a two year old, thru going to school, doing the right things that any moron can figure out what they are to become and architect and building an stadium are. So what? Of course the architect was a two month old at one time in their lives. So anybody how build or discovered any thing in life was a baby at one time.
Instead of any kind of solid scientific research or methodology expect the things you ought to do to be successful have a justification in the bible. The bible was written by people who killed animals in the belief that would make their god happy and would win his favor, perhaps allow them to conquer the next tribe thanks to that sacrifice. So, if you believe your life could be improved by their wisdom, here it is.
